Being held on Thursday 26 May, the walk will again start at Koombana Bay’s Wardandi Boodja sculpture before making way along the footbridge and ending at the Graham Bricknell Memorial Music Shell. At the end of the walk, there will be a flag raising ceremony, story sharing, activities and a chance for further discussions, all to raise awareness and education around reconciliation. The walk will kick off National Reconciliation Week, which runs from 27 May to 3 June with this year’s theme of ‘Be Brave. Make Change’ – a challenge to all Australians to be brave and tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation so we can make change. Reconciliation Week is a time for all of us to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how we can contribute to achieving reconciliation. Bunbury’s Reconciliation Walk continues to grow each year and all community members, businesses and organisations are encouraged to take part. We look forward to seeing you from 10.30am on 26 May.
