Beat the Biddi! One of Australia’s most challenging rides, the Munda Biddi MTB trail is a world-class nature-based off-road cycling experience. Spanning 1000kms across southern Western Australia from Mundaring and Albany Two massive sections of the trail travel through the middle of the BG, and it’s accessible from the towns of Collie, Boyanup, and Donnybrook. True fanatics should spend a day at WA’s premier, private MTB park, Linga Longa near Balingup. Its awesome facilities are loved by those in the know and it also recently played host to the 2017 WA Gravity Enduro State Championships.
Every Friday during summer, hire a fat wheel and join them on Friday Fat Bike ride. Leaving Melo Velo at 5pm, the ride takes you out into the Maidens, around an awesome loop and then back into the CBD along the beach. It will get your legs working and help shed those banana bread kilos!
Instead of a road, take the beach. #BG has miles of untouched beach that still allow a bit of four-wheel action. Go before the crowds overtake the white stretches of endless sand.
Boast the octane levels by taking a skydive with West Oz Skydiving. Tandem skydive into the beer garden of the Old Coast Road Brewery near Myalup, will enjoy the breathtaking views extending from Bunbury to Mandurah and beyond. The Bibbulmun Track has long since been an Australian MUST DO hiking experience. Taking you through the regions of Harvey, Collie, Donnybrook and down to Balingup over four to five days (depending on your level of fitness)...it’s your pack, stunning surrounds, and a lot of alone time with your thoughts.

Take a Morning tea tour and spot dolphins and osprey while taking a gentle cruise through the scenic waterways. Get a group of ten or more together for a Geographe wine cruise, or wake up on a Sunday morning for a 9am breaky cruise up the river, stopping at a farm for a BBQ breakfast. Elandra by Three Water Cruises operates within the beautiful Collie River and Leschenault Estuary around Bunbury, Eaton and Australind.
Take fun to the highest level at Forest Adventures in the Ludlow Tuart Forest near Capel. Explore towering Tuart trees from 18 metres above ground, with an adventure ropes course and more than 500 metres of flying foxes.
In season (note strict regulations apply) scoop up a Blue Manna Crab from the Leschenault Estuary or snare a marron from the Collie River. These crusteans are delicacies served with a bottle of Geographe wine or beer.
Adventures on the high seas. Ocean West have a range of options including short bay cruises with the dolphins of Koombana Bay, to weekend holidays at the beaches of Dunsborough or Busselton. Anchor for lunch, or relax on the deck and soak up the sun and the sea air. Have a go at steering the yacht or take a swim off the swim platform.
You’ll need a 4WD to get there. If you don’t have a 4WD, head to the King Jarrah Tree in the Wellington Forest, it’s not quite as big but still impressive.
An amphitheatre of sheer walls of solid granite up to 20 metres high. Marvel at the massive expanse of water and surrounding forest as you descend. Or put on your climbing gear and take an ascent approach. (Note bookings and fees apply).
