- WONDER AT RARE TUART TREES– Make sure to check out the rare Tuart forests that run between Capel and Busselton. The Tuart Forest National Park is home to the largest remaining pure forest of Tuart in the world. Here, you’ll find some of the tallest Tuart trees on the Swan Coastal Plain with some towering over 33 meters high and 10 meters in girth. It’s a must-visit for nature lovers and anyone interested in unique and beautiful sights.
- SOAK IN THE SUNSET– Watch the sunset at Peppermint Grove Beach and enjoy delicious pizza or drinks from the bar menu at Peppermint Grove Beach Holiday Park. - SWING A STICK at Capel Golf Club, home to one of the finest golf courses in regional WA. The club boasts a picturesque 18-hole course and a new floodlit 10-bay undercover driving range. Located just 10 minutes south of Bunbury, the club is the Gateway to Golf in the South-West.
- PAINTBALL FUN– Have some super-awesome paintball fun at Paintball Pursuit in Gelorup! Come down with family and friends for an adrenaline-fueled action experience that you won’t forget. Open for bookings on Saturdays and Sundays only.
- TAKE FUN TO NEW HEIGHTS at Forest Adventures, an adrenaline-filled adventure park with high ropes courses and flying foxes, set high among the majestic trees of the legendary Ludlow Tuart Forest. This amazing park spans eight acres of unspoiled natural bushland.
- PICNIC at Ironstone Gully Falls and discover the wildflowers. In winter, the stream, follows a course through one of the region’s many fine jarrah forests, and gently rambles over a series of rapids. The falls drop over a nine metre ledge. From August to October, the surrounding countryside abounds with a stunning display of WA wildflowers.
- 7. INDULGE in some homemade pies or pastries at the Dragon Bakery in Dalyellup, the best value in the region. Stock up on homemade pies, pastries, cakes, and their amazing deep-fried pies. A must-visit!
- GET YOUR COFFEE AND FOODIE FIX at The Fat Birdie, serving scrumptious fresh rolls, wraps, quiche, and even homemade spring rolls, all served with Margaret River Yahava coffee. Capelberry is a great spot for breakfast with croissant breakfast bruschetta and that will surely fill up the hungriest of travellers. They also have a massive selection of herbal teas, Rubra coffee, as well as chutneys by local Peppermint Grove Beach producer, the Fat Hippo.
- BURN SOME ENERGY at Gravity ETC, located in Dalyellup, home to 1800 sqm of trampoline floor area, with 7 different activity zones, plus a 200 sqm mezzanine level, a parent retreat, café, and lift. Disability and special needs friendly.
- PRETEND TO BE THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE at the South West Rail & Heritage Centre. The Centre has regular open days, normally on the 4th Sunday of each month, with a special theme each time. On an Open Day, you can see more than just railway vehicles on display. Also, witness the South-West Blacksmiths in action, and agricultural machinery whilst enjoying delicious refreshments available in the Picnic Van. - GET YOUR FRESH FRUIT & VEGGIES– Head to the Boyanup Farmers Markets, held on the 4th Sunday of each month from 8 am – 12 noon. The markets showcase the wonderful diversity of fresh locally grown seasonal produce all grown and picked close to the market keeping your food miles to a minimum.
- SEEK CURIOSITIES AND COLLECTABLES. A must-visit in Boyanup is Rustic French Living, located adjacent to a charming old church. The store is a treasure trove of authentic and French inspired antiques, with a fashion boutique and its very own cafe filled with freshly baked treats and delicious coffee that will take you straight to France.
- RAMBLE THE REGION. Explore the Preston River Ramble, Joshua Brook, the Dalyellup Lakes, and the Gelorup walk trails. Walking is a great way to stretch your legs after sitting in your vehicle for hours while taking in the natural beauty of each area and capturing some of the history.
- SIP LOCAL WINES locally owned and operated Kellivale Estate, produces wines made with Spanish, French, and Italian grape varietals. This cozy winery offers mouthwatering pizza and fine wines. Open Saturday & Sundays 10 am-4 pm. Capel Vale Winery was established in 1974 and offers high quality wines in a beautiful setting. The cellar door is open 7 days a week from 10.30 to 4.30.
