Capel’s main street is strewn with murals that incorporate glimpses of the history of the area. Businesses worked together with artists to create an outdoor gallery of custom murals that both entice and educate.
Artists Andrew Frazer, Celestin Hutchinson and Trevor Hildred were among the artists who left their mark on buildings in the town.
On the outskirts of Capel stand large, light-infused metal entry statements that were designed by local artist Erin Rafferty. Keen to leave no boring surface untouched by art and creativity, the bins of Capel are also covered in photographs taken by local residents.

Capel’s artistic transformation is due to a team of artists. However, local artist and tattooist, Erin Rafferty is the brain-child of the endeavour. Erin is passionate about brightening up Capel and bringing creative inspiration to the forefront.
