A Festival for Everyone
Whether you’re attending with family, friends, or on your own, there’s something for everyone at the Dardanup Bull & Barrel Festival. With over 150 market and food stalls, live music, and an abundance of activities for all ages, it’s the perfect low-cost day out. From the Under 5s Zone to the Kids in the Kitchen marquee and the ever-popular Old McDonald’s Farm, children will have no shortage of entertainment.
Showcasing Dardanup’s Community and Culture
Organised by a committee of 25 dedicated volunteers, the festival is a year-long effort to showcase the talents of local schoolchildren, musicians, dancers, and artists. It also provides crucial fundraising opportunities for community groups while highlighting the region’s agriculture, businesses, and tourism. The event brings the Dardanup community together, welcoming nearly 20,000 visitors each year, many of whom return annually.
Festival Highlights
There are countless activities and attractions to enjoy. For animal lovers, the Down on the Farm arena offers hands-on experiences, and the Old McDonald’s Farm allows kids to pat and feed farm animals. Families can explore the Monster Kids Craft Marquee, enjoy camel rides, and watch the action-packed dog agility displays or the thrilling dog high jump competition. In the Tastes of the Ferguson Valley marquee, adults can unwind and sample some of the region’s finest wines and brews.
Visitors can also enjoy a wide range of live music including local bands, school choirs, and musicians performing all day. The festival also celebrates local heritage with antique displays, a Dardanup history showcase, and blacksmithing and woodworking demonstrations.
The Spectacular Finale: The Wespine Fire Sculpture
As the sun sets, the festival culminates in its most anticipated moment: the lighting of the Wespine Fire Sculpture. Built each year by a local artist, the giant wooden bull is set ablaze, lighting up the night sky in a spectacular display.
