Harvey River Estate is a family owned winery located an hour and a half south of Perth, in the town of Harvey. Visitors to cellar door can sample a range of wines while learning about the history of the winery from the Estate’s friendly cellar door team. Along with the winery’s range of table wines, their sought-after 10-year-old Muscat and Tawny are also available to taste and to purchase. Green Door | Best Small Cellar Door
Green Door Vineyard & Winery is a small boutique establishment run by Ash and Kath Keeffe in the Ferguson Valley, 20 minutes east of Bunbury. Located high on the slopes of the Darling Scarp, the cellar door and vineyard offers panoramic vistas of the coastal strip from Myalup to Dunsborough. After a work trip to his family’s homeland of Italy in the early 1990s, Fil Barreca aged just 21 discovered his intrinsic connection to working in a vineyard and growing grapes on a highly innovative Sicilian winery. He took his inspiration and passion back to his property in Donnybrook, where he began planting vines. Over 25 years on, and Fil is still cultivating his vines, producing wines through his family owned business, Barrecas Wine. Together with Kelly Barreca, Fil looks after about 46 hectares of vines, predominantly Shiraz but also other wine varietals like cult favourite Barbera, the popular and much loved blend Shiraz Malbec, Zinfandel, Sangiovese and many more. In 2003, Cathy and Neil Howard found the perfect property to plant a vineyard in the Whicher Range at Chapman Hill; located in the Geographe Wine region but across the border in the Shire of Bussselton. They grow sauvignon blanc, viognier and cabernet sauvignon in Whicher Range.
