Planets, Galaxies and Grazing, St Aidan Wines, 654 Ferguson Road, Ferguson Valley from 6.30pm to 10pm. Join in for an evening of interstellar delight as we welcome back The Mobile Observatory for another voyage through the cosmos with their powerful telescopes, including their 22″ (2.3m tall) observatory size telescope.
Tickets are $80 Adults and $55 Children 16 years and under (plus BF) (Note: event not recommended for children under eight due to size restrictions of the telescope)
Entry includes a welcome drink on arrival, Grazing Table, and selection of light bites, as well an informative presentation followed by outstanding views by The Mobile Observatory. Away from the city lights, and on a moonless night you will clearly see Saturn and its rings, plus the intriguing, coloured storm bands of Jupiter. The darkest skies will also highlight the intricate structures of the Tarantula nebula; a nebula so large, that can be seen in detail even though it is outside our own galaxy. You will also see a bright cluster of half a million stars sparkling like diamonds, and the birthing place of stars in the Orion nebula.
