The Bunbury Open is hosted annually on a weekend in May.
It is a 6 round Classical event with a time control of 60+10 played over two days at Manea Senior College.
The tournament is open to everyone and is ACF Rated.
The prize money is distributed throughout divisions that are based on the ratings of the participants.
So everyone can reasonably be eligible to win a prize if they play well. For example divisions could be Open division, Under 1800, Under 1500 and Under 1200.
The entry fee is $40.
You must know the rules of chess and know how to write down your moves using algebraic notation.
There will be a pre-tournament briefing that covers the tournament rules.
