The Capel Region has some really great places to eat and drink. Check out some of the following places.
- Capel Vale Winery
The cellar door is open seven days a week from 10.30am – 4.30pm. Located just off the Bussell Highway in Capel you will love their multi-award winning wines. The vines were planted in 1974 and the initial winery was built on the Stirling Estate in Capel with the first vintage in 1980. Their wine making philosophy is to produce wines with balance, complexity and elegant fruit flavours.
- Kellivale Estate
The cellar door is open Saturday and Sunday 10.30am – 4pm. Peter and Anne McDermott have put their heart and soul into their small family run vineyard since the late nineties and over this time have produced some truly wonderful Italin, Spanish and French varietal wines. Their family motto is to “strive to be distinctly different” and Kellivale continues to push the boundaries on wine making, experimenting with different varieties while focusng on superior quality and taste in their small batch produce.
- Last Slice
Open daily from 11am Last Slice is a sports bar offering amazing pizzas as well as a whole range of pub favourites. They also show live sports throughout the week. A great place for lunch or dinner with pals or with the family. They even have sticky date pudding on the menu!
- Capelberry Cafe
Open daily from 8am – 1.30pm Capelberry Cafe in the heart of Capel township, offers tasty breakfasts, morning teas and lunches.
- Sacred Earth Pantry
Just off Bussell Highway you will find Sacred Earth Pantry. Open daily from 7 am providing fresh fruit and veg, nutritious food and snack and great coffee. Definitely worth a pit stop.
- Old Boyanup Bakery
All your favourite Aussie baked goods. Stop for your fix of vanilla slices, doughnuts and apple pies. They also have great sandwiches, rolls and pies.
- Coffee Joy
Some of the best coffee in the South West. Open from 5am Monday to Friday and 6am on Saturday and 7am on Sunday (they need a lie in too) this cracking little drive through has fab coffee and a choice of yummy food to make your journey even sweeter.
- Boyanup Farmers market
Traditional 100% natural, locally grown food for a healthy family. Held on the 4th Sunday of every month from 8am to 12 Noon, this market is not to be missed. The markets showcase the wonderful diversity of fresh locally grown produce, fruit in season and fresh locally grown vegetables picked close to the markets with the lowest food miles possible. Goat and lamb vans have high quality pasture fed meat products and plenty of seafood items. There’s also goat’s milk and cheese, sheep cheese, honey and honey products, olives and olive oils and nuts. The market as so much amazing produce and locally made artisan products.
