Boyanup Farmers Markets
Traditional 100% natural, locally grown food for a healthy family. Held on the 4th Sunday of every month from 8am to 12 Noon, this market is not to be missed. The markets showcase the wonderful diversity of fresh locally grown produce, fruit in season and fresh locally grown vegetables picked close to the markets with the lowest food miles possible. Goat and lamb vans have high quality pasture fed meat products and plenty of seafood items. There’s also goat’s milk and cheese, sheep cheese, honey and honey products, olives and olive oils and nuts. The market as so much amazing produce and locally made artisan products.
Peppermint Grove and Stirling Beaches
Idyllic Peppermint Grove Beach is just west of Capel township half way between Bunbury and Busselton. Take a dip dip or relax on the beautiful sandy beach. Check out the designated fishing areas and try your hand at catching dinner. Families love the calm waters and the long stretches of sand, perfect for walking, paddling or swimming. Peppermint Grove also has a fabulous playground for the kids. Stirling beach commences at the mouth of the Capel River. It is a great place for swimming, surfing and fishing.
Capel Township
There is plenty to see and do in the Capel Township. Check out the local shops, quaint cafes and street art. The local library is a great source of local tourism information and you are bound to find treasures in the local shops.
Boyanup Township
Boyanup is a quaint country town which has a fabulous drive through coffee shop, a monthly farmers market, rail heritage centre and a cracking local tavern. Check out Rustic French Living a treasure trove of authentic and inspired French antiques, with a fashion boutique and our very own cafe filled with fresh bakes and coffee that will take you straight to France. In the church next door you will find the Craggy Pear your go-to destination for all things upcycling, spinning, crocheting, chalk painting, bespoke homewares, one of a kind furniture, wool … and so much more!

- Tuart Discovery Trail
Located on Higgins Road, off Stirling Street in Capel. Tuart Forest National Park is a perfect place for a peaceful forest walk, picnic or adventure in nature. It protects the last remaining pure Tuart forest in the world. It has the tallest and largest specimens of Tuart tress on the Swan Coastal Plain. Some of the trees are more than 33m high and 10m in girth. Tuarts only grow on coastal limestone, 200km north and south of Perth and nowhere else on earth. Tuart forest was once abundant. They were open with good visibility and tall grassland carpeted the forest floor. The park is a riot of colour in spring when the wildflowers burst into bloom. All year round it’s a bird spotter’s paradise. The park is also home to WA’s largest population of the endangered western ring-tailed possum as well as kangaroos, quenda, brush-tailed phascogale and plenty of bird species to spot.
- Ironstone Gully Falls
Located 17km south east of Capel on Goodwood Road, this historic picnic area was reserved in 1903 for use as a recreation area for the Capel River settlers. The site is famous for the rich red rock over which a small tributary from the Capel River tumbles. During the wetter winter months the stream crosses under Goodwood Road and meanders over a series of rapids before dropping over a nine meter ledge. During spring the trail features wildflowers, and the area sits in a remnant jarrah bushland. A narrow vehicle track winds its way through the reserve providing an ideal walking and cycling circuit. Keep an eye and ear out for Red-tailed and Long-Billed Black Cockatoos and Scarlet Robins.
- Gelorup Nature Trail
This trail is situated along the Five Mile Brook in Gelorup. The trail has upgraded 1km of a pre-existing fire break on the north side of the Brook from Sheoak Park on Bussell Highway to the Community Centre on Hastie Road.
- Dalyellup Tuart Walk
The Tuart Walk is located in the Tuart Forest between Dalyellup and Usher (South of Bunbury). The trail is 1.27km of high quality, flat asphalt path running between Maidment Parade in Dalyellup, and Ocean Drive in Usher. The walk caters for walkers, cyclists, skaters and parents with prams. It features two interpretive shelters one at either end as well as numerous panels along the walk.
- Dalyellup Lakes Walk
The Dalyellup Lakes Walk is a quality concrete path circuiting the main lake on Maidment Parade. The trail features an 80m timber boardwalk as well as a large viewing shelter that extends over the lake. Interpretive panels featuring local wildlife are displayed along the trail.
- Dalyellup Bushland Walk
The Dalyellup Bushland Path is a 1.27km, high quality, flat concrete path through open space within Dalyellup. The trail extends from the junction of Maidment Parade and Maiden Road. The path takes you through a section of the Tuart forest, past a picnic area and features interpretive panels about local wildlife.
- Joshua Lake Walk, Boyanup
This path circuit is located within a rehabilitated mineral sand mine on Joshua Creek Road. The circuit caters for both cyclists and walkers, with high quality flat concrete paths. The Walk features many interpretive panels, and includes several shelters, a bird hide, bench seas and picnic area.
- Preston River Ramble
The Ramble is a 1.3km walking trail alongside the Preston River, starting at the Lions Park on Bridge Street. This trail includes interpretive panels and follows the Preston River and provides an opportunity to catch a glimpse of history, observe conservation principles and engage all your senses.
- Munda Biddi Trail
The Munda Biddi Trail is a 900km cycle trail from Mundaring in the Perth Hills to Albany in the Great Southern, offering a combination of off and on road sections. 8.7km of the trail passes through Boyanup utilising Joshua Creek Road, Armstrong Road and Hurst Road.
